Results: Exceeded PR KPIs achieving an estimated 240,000 coverage views

The client

In 2010, PassivSystems was the first company to launch a smart thermostat to enable consumers to control their heating remotely. Since then it has developed a range of energy services based on a secure, scalable cloud-based IoT platform that delivers value to solar PV, district heating and utility companies.

Their needs

With a number of innovative projects and partnership announcements in the pipeline, PassivSystems was keen to share its many successes through a targeted media campaign to help build its brand profile. It was especially interested in gaining editorial coverage for project success across the nascent district heating market.

What we did

After creating a plan identifying Passiv's key projects and announcements, we researched and compiled a comprehensive list of publications that reached target audiences, including those covering energy, smart grid, district heating and specific vertical sectors.

We used media alerts and other tactics to introduce Passiv to the press, which uncovered feature article opportunities and delivered initial coverage.

We researched and pitched feature article opportunities to key journals, wrote press announcements and issued a regular flow of news to the media.

Passiv's case studies, which we wrote, highlighted specific projects that brought its technology to life and promoted key business benefits.

The results

We achieved our coverage KPI goals, engaging with key trade publications on Passiv's behalf, including Utility Week, The Energyst, Power & Energy Solutions, businessGreen, Energy Manager magazine, as well as titles serving the installer, building and construction sector.

The combined total readership of the coverage reached over 160M web visitors, attracting an estimated 239,000 views.
