Act now to pitch for COP26

Deadline for expressions of interest is 5th March at 5pm

UK companies have a unique opportunity to showcase their wares as Glasgow prepares to host the UN Climate Change Conference in November.

This year’s “Conference of the Parties” summit will take place in the Scottish Event Campus in the heart of Glasgow, 01-12 November 2021.

There will be multiple conference streams comprising workshops, panel discussions and keynote speeches. There are also multiple event spaces available. However, if you want to participate it seems that it’s not simply a case of getting your chequebook out and booking stand space. In fact, there is no charge for a basic exhibition space and power package. But you do have to prove that you deserve to be there.

COP26 is offering space for creative installations and even artwork, but most cleantech businesses will probably be interested in “Exhibition space for technology and innovation showcasing”. The organisers namecheck a number of technologies including zero emission vehicles, clean energy demonstrators, hydrogen fuel cells, new batteries, nanotechnology, shipping and airplane models, and net-zero steel factories prototypes.

To be in with a chance of participating at the summit, you must submit a proposal, or expression of interest, before the deadline of 5th March.

You also have to satisfy certain environmental criteria depending on the size of your business:

Evaluation

Before you rush to the application, consider how you’re going to position your business to demonstrate its relevance to the summit.

There are some helpful guidelines on how your pitch will be evaluated.

You have up to 1,000 words, a single image and a supporting document to make a case to get your business involved.

Get involved

The new sense of urgency around climate change and net zero means that COP26 should be a fantastic opportunity to showcase your products to an international audience looking for solutions to the climate crisis right now.
