Content writer

Can you make sense of complex products and solutions and write about them in simple terms? If so, then we may have just the right opportunity for you.

Resonates is a PR and marketing agency that supports a wide range of tech and clean tech companies – from unified communication vendors and IT resellers to offshore wind farm developers. We’re looking for someone who can write press releases, blogs, social media posts, case studies, feature articles, video scripts and more, to meet our clients’ high standards.

The right person will not be afraid to do a bit of research and get to grips with our client’s technological solutions. You don’t need a degree in rocket science, but you do need to be able to take a complex message and make it simple, so that the reader can understand the benefits without having to think or work too hard.

You’ll be working as part of a small, busy, and energetic team, as well as with our clients. We are flexible around remote working but meet at least once a week at our offices in Newbury, just 10 minutes’ walk from the railway station.

At Resonates, we believe that good copy doesn’t happen by accident. It stems from careful thinking, planning and execution.

The right candidate for this role will have the ability to:

  • Write clear, concise, cohesive, and compelling copy.
  • Make sense of complex technical solutions and explain them in plain English.
  • Listen to a client, create a brief and turn it into copy.
  • Understand the principles of good copywriting.
  • Understand best practice for different types of copy.
  • Adapt your tone of voice to match those of our clients.
  • Manage a busy schedule and work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Maintain accuracy while meeting tight deadlines.

In your role as content writer, you’ll be writing whitepapers, articles, blogs, press releases and more. You’ll work from briefs and client interviews and supplement these with your own research.

You may also be asked to come up with your own content ideas and produce outlines and synopses for our clients to approve.

You’ll be working closely with our account managers, marketing and PR experts, other writers, and our head of content. You may also be asked to proofread and edit other writers’ work.
