The brief

TEAM Energy wanted to supercharge its marketing efforts and position itself as a thought leader in the energy and sustainability consultancy space to help with its business development efforts. It needed thought-led content that would get attention while appealing to the decision-makers in its target audiences. 

TEAM Energy also wanted high-quality backlinks to improve its online presence, and content that its marketing team could reuse and repurpose across its various channels, including its blog, socials and email. 

Timely and targeted thought leadership synced to the news agenda

Conscious of its budget for outsourcing marketing services, TEAM Energy had its in-house marketing team create messaging and segment its audiences. We utilised the team’s insights to create a tactical plan targeting the key publications that decision-makers in its target audiences regularly read.  

We proposed thought leadership editorial content that brought awareness to TEAM Energy’s services and engaged with the news agenda – including live consultations and regulation changes – and interviewed its subject matter experts to understand their voice and opinions before ghost-writing on their behalf. 

Through media outreach, our trusted journalist relationships, and well-timed pitches, we developed press opportunities and secured strong coverage for TEAM Energy’s content. We shared industry news and journalist enquiries for comment on developing news items that could further enhance TEAM Energy’s brand. And we provided strategic counsel on developing a sector-wide net-zero survey, creating press releases to drive survey responses and generate attention around its release.

Focused on business development, from the outset TEAM Energy was clear about its KPIs. Over the 15-month campaign, our content and digital PR services were instrumental in building the quantity and quality of backlinks aligned with those targets. 

Securing 50+ pieces of high-value coverage in Tier 1 publications, we exposed TEAM Energy to more than 225,000 readers in its target sectors. These activities generated over 60 authoritative backlinks and over 160 brand mentions, significantly strengthening its Google ranking and boosting overall online brand presence. 

TEAM Energy’s marketing team was able to repurpose our content for its blog, LinkedIn articles and social media posts.
