LinkedIn tips, tools and trends

LinkedIn is your chance to tell a story, to stand out and to meet people in your industry. Your profile page is the foundation of your personal branding, and your company page is the basis of credibility and personalisation of work. In 2025, both will be increasingly important tools for building your professional network.

LinkedIn was primarily launched to “Connect professionals from around the world to make them more productive and successful”, and this mission statement has remained unchanged for more than two decades. We predict LinkedIn will only grow, with over 1 billion registered users and 67 million company profiles currently active, making it incredibly important to stay up-to-date on the platform’s most recent trends and tools.

Predictions for 2025

In 2025, we predict that LinkedIn will continue to grow in registered users and companies, in new tools for content creation, and in engagement for both profiles and pages.

For this coming year, the trending content for engagement is what to look out for. As of now, carousel (multi photo posts) are the highest engaging forms of content, videos are the most shared form of content, and polls generate the highest impression rate. Keeping these in mind for varied posting strategies to maintain engagement levels is paramount for both your personal profile and for your company page. For 2025, top posts will likely remain polls, carousels and videos, all with short captions. The highest engagement is from captions of 19 words or fewer. Gone are the days of page-long LinkedIn caption stories.

With the exponential increase of the use of AI tools on the platform, users will strive to see more human-like content this year, an encouraging sign to be more personal, personable and relatable on profiles and channels alike. Posts written with warmth, and a human touch will stand out on this platform.

Assorted tips

To take on 2025 in a more prepared, organised and engaging manner, our content and social media team has put together some tips and advice on how to refresh your LinkedIn page or profile.

Post frequently

  • In 2024, a typical brand made on average 18 posts per month, a 10% increase on 2023. This may seem like a daunting amount; the most important thing when posting is to be consistent. Simply ramping up the volume of posts per month without a strategy won’t necessarily help with visibility. Stick with a reasonable and realistic schedule for 2025 with at least one post a week, and your posts will stay on your audience’s feeds. Above all, quality over quantity.

Post carousels, videos, polls

  • The data does not lie; what people are engaging with now is what they will engage with in on your profile. The most popular posts that resonate with users on LinkedIn are carousels, videos and polls. We recommend using a mixture and combination of these types of posts to keep your feed fresh and to appeal to your connections and followers.

Hashtag guide

  • Hashtags are useful to categorise posts and reach a wider audience. With so many to choose from, it can be hard to decide which to use for your posts, when and how many. Hashtag Analytics is a helpful tool that may make your social media life easier. This chrome extension allows easy access to hashtag performance, follower analytics and engagement rates and helps to search for related hashtags. Our social media guru highly recommends this tool!

Use your analytics

  • LinkedIn has a wealth of information in its analytics tabs. From there, you can pivot your posting style and frequency to match your current or target audience. The engagement levels can show you exactly what is working and what isn’t. Make it a resolution to use this data to inform your content this year.
